VINTAGE china, wartime fashion and classic cars helped transport visitors to Caswell House back in time.

Against Breast Cancer Witney held a pink vintage extravaganza at the venue on Sunday to raise funds.

There were vintage teas on china plates, craft stalls, fashion shows from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, and classic cars, including an MG, pictured above with models, from left to right, Chandini Mallick, Lucy Treadwell, Grave McIntyre, Michelle Chan and Abigail Dickson, Sue Mulliss, a volunteer for Against Breast Cancer Witney, said: “It was fantastic and there was a really good mix of people. There were families with young children through to senior citizens.

“We raised around £2,300, which for a small charity is quite a large amount. It will go towards the research for finding a vaccine for breast cancer.”

Managers at Caswell House, near Brize Norton, provided the venue free of charge and many others helped out, including the RAF, which provided tables for the tea. Burford School pupil Abigail said: “The day went really well and I loved the clothes. I wish I could wear them every day.”

Schoolmate Michelle Chan added: “I loved the dresses and we raised a lot of money for charity, so it was a great success.”
