OXFORDSHIRE suffered a second consecutive defeat in the NCCA Trophy.
After a loss at Cumbria in their Group One opener, Oxon were beaten at the hands of Northumberland, by two wickets in a rain-affected match at Banbury.
The visitors stuttered in pursuit of a target of 233 but were ahead of the required DLS score of 211 when rain halted play of a ball in the 44th over, with Northumberland on 219 for eight.

Former Durham and Ireland batter Stuart Poynter again played a key role in Northumberland’s victory, as he followed up his 171 against Herefordshire with 64 from 53 balls.
Oxon’s innings featured a second successive half-century from newcomer Luke Hayes.
Northumberland though have secured a top two finish in Group One.
