OXFORD City Stars captain Dax Hedges has re-signed for next season.
It takes the 32-year-old forward into a 15th campaign with his home town team as he continues as skipper.
Hedges said: “When I got the call from Simon it was a no-brainer to put pen to paper. I couldn’t see myself at any other club.
“The boys in the room to the fans in the stands are the best in league.
“It was a tough, disjointed season last year, but we showed what we are capable of at points in the season. We finished the season playing more consistent, fun hockey.
“Simon and Shane (Moore, head of hockey operations) are doing some great recruiting and building a strong squad.
"It’s going to be a tough, competitive league this year and I’m looking forward to getting back to it."

Stars are aiming to improve on last season's eighth-place finish in NIHL Division 1 South.
Head coach Simon Anderson added: “It was a massive priority of mine to bring Dax back.
“He is a great guy and a leader of men and that’s why he will continue as captain next season.
“Dax brings us a strong presence in the face-off circle and plays a solid two-way game.
"He always plays bigger than his small stature and is never afraid to stick up for his teammates when needed.
“He also chips in offensively and we will be looking for him to do that again and be effective at both ends of the ice. I’m really looking forward to coaching Dax again.”
Hedges is the fourth member of Stars’ 2021/22 squad to commit to another campaign, while five new players have arrived.
