ELOISE Hind beat her own Oxford City AC record with another dominant performance at the English Schools Combined Events Championships.
The teenager was in complete control as she won the Under 17 heptathlon with a score of 5,347 points – nearly 600 more than the next-best athlete.
It beat her previous best of 5,245, set at the Under 17 National Championships in August, as she moved to second in the UK all-time list.
Hind’s total was just 127 points short of the British Under 17 record, set in 2013 by former World Junior Champion and Tokyo 2021 Team GB athlete Morgan Lake.
The youngster began with a solid display in the 80m hurdles, clocking 11.66 seconds in Bedford.
From then on, she started to pull away from the field with ease.
Hind achieved a personal best of 1.77 metres in the high jump, 15 centimetres better than her nearest rival, putting her top in the UK for her age this year.
Another personal best followed immediately after, this time in the shotput, as she threw 11.93m.
That was followed by a strong 200m, where Hind’s time of 26.42secs was just a tenth of a second outside her quickest ever.
The teenager started day two as she meant to go on, managing 5.57m in the long jump and a third personal best of the weekend, this time throwing 39m in the javelin – another club record.
Hind was already beyond catching, but she finished in style by winning the 800m in 2mins 23.59secs.
It increased the margin of victory over second-placed Lucie Fellows, from Somerset, who took silver with 4,753 points.
Hind has since been selected to represent England at an international meet in Glasgow in December, but she finished her summer season with another strong performance.
Representing England Schools in the long jump at the SIAB Schools Home International, the rising star achieved a distance of 5.89m – just two centimetres off her personal best.
It was enough to see Hind claim gold ahead of Edinburgh AC’s Molly Reville.
The youngster took Oxford City’s heptathlon club record from Jade O’Dowda, who had held the title for five years.
Hind previously competed for Radley AC, before switching clubs at Under 17 level.
