ZOE Pollock's performance at the British Athletics Championships has earned her the chance to take on the continent's best.
The Oxford City AC member will be Team GB's representative in the women's 400m hurdles at next week's European Under 23 Championships in Tallin, Estonia.
Pollock only achieved the qualifying time of 57.50secs last weekend in Manchester.
Her time of 57.47 saw her finish eighth in the British 400m hurdles final, but it was a personal best and enough for a place in the squad.
Pollock said after the race: “What an incredible race to run in, with an amazing field to pull me along.
“I’m really happy that I got the European Under 23 qualifying time, which I’ve been chasing for a while."
It beat her previous best of 57.69, set at the Loughborough International in May.
Pollock will be joined in Estonia by Jade O'Dowda, who will compete in the Heptathlon.
The former Oxford City athlete, who now runs for Newham & Essex Beagles, is one of three British women picked for the event.
O'Dowda is from Kidlington and is coached by Toni Minichiello, who mentored 2012 Olympic gold-medal winner Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.
