A historic coaching inn which has been recently renovated has been placed on the market.

Dating back to the 13th century, the Merrymouth Inn in Fifield on the Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire border is up for sale for £1.4m.

Despite its age and character, it is surprisingly not listed nor located in a conservation area, allowing for flexibility in renovation and expansion projects.

Since acquiring the property four years ago, the owners have invested significantly in upgrading and refurbishing the inn.

The accommodation, including flats and owner's quarters, has been restored while the bars have been revamped and the kitchen facilities enhanced.

The inn boasts spacious trade areas, including a main bar with traditional seating for more than 50 customers and a cosy restaurant with seating for approximately 30 patrons.
