AN Oxford University college features in a list of the top 500 travel experiences on earth,
Christ Church, Oxford is ranked 314th in the list which has been published by travel guide company Lonely Planet. The college, off St Aldate's, which includes the landmark Tom Tower and the city's cathedral, is the only Oxford site to feature in the Ultimate Travel List, which has just been released.

The Lake District National Park is the UK's top experience, in 40th place, followed by the British Museum (56) and Wales Coast Path (82).
The ancient rock-carved city of Petra in Jordan was named as the number 1 place in the world, followed by the wildlife-rich Galápagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador, Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in Australia and the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
A spokesman for Lonely Planet said: "We've all got a list of places that we want to see for ourselves: places friends have enthused about, places we've read about, dreamed about. This is our list.

"This second edition contains over 200 new entries... a mix of knock-out new openings, sights that have upped their game, or places more relevant to the way we travel now."
"We also changed the way we calculated the list," says Lonely Planet's Piers Pickard. "For this edition we rewarded extra points to sights that are managing tourism sustainably."
