JOHN Mousinho has joined Oxford United after terminating his contract at Burton Albion.

The 31-year-old was part of the Brewers’ side which won back-to-back promotions from League Two to the Championship.

He made 32 appearances in the second tier as Burton avoided relegation, but has not featured for them since the opening week of the season.

Mousinho began his career as a midfielder, before dropping back to become a centre half during his time at the Pirelli Stadium.

He will bring added experience to the U’s squad – his next appearance will be the 400th of his career.
