STEVE Naylor stormed to victory by more than a minute at Sunday’s Cotswold Classic 10.

Witney resident Naylor, who runs for Bedford & County AC, won the annual Witney Road Runners event in 53mins 17secs.

The race, which started and ended at Witney Community Primary School, was also an Oxfordshire County Championship event.

Naylor was a minute and 16 seconds ahead of Paul Fernandez, of Abingdon, who was followed home by Woodstock Harrier James Bolton.

Alchester’s Sarah Rendell finished as the first Oxfordshire lady in 33rd overall.

EWAN Gault, of St Edwards School, won the Longworth 10k in 35.44.

Abingdon School’s Jonty De La Harpe and Alex Miell-Ingram were second and third.

HEADINGTON Road Runners finished ninth at the 195-mile Round Norfolk Relay.

They completed the 17-stage event in just over 26 hours.

DAVID Kuester won the over 70s title at the British Masters Weight (Throws) Pentathlon Championships in Birmingham.
