Littlemore were on the Thames at Sandford for their W Henwood Cup, fished by ten members, and the roach in the stretch just switched on.
Gerald Perks had a fine net of redfins for 28.4.0 on waggler, alternating between hemp and tares and hemp and caster. It would have been over 30lb, but pike took some of his better fish.
Brian Hutchings’s quality net of roach would have won most matches on the Thames this season, but he had to settle for second with 18.3.0 on waggler with hemp and tares. Alan Campbell used the same tactics and had another good net of roach weighing 14.12.0 for third.
The good back-up weights proved what a quality venue this is, with a total of 99.5.0 fish caught.
