Oxford seamer Jack Brooks claimed two Australian wickets on his first-class debut for Northants in a 135-run defeat.
Brooks, who started his cricketing career at Tiddington, opened his account by bowling Andrew McDonald for 32 in Australia’s first innings of 308-8dec at Northampton on Saturday.
He then had Mitchell Johnson caught by Riki Wessels for 14 to finish with 2-89 off 20 overs.
Brooks didn’t bat as Northants replied with 226-7dec in their first innings, and then was out of luck in Australia’s second innings yesterday, taking 0-52 off 11 overs as the tourists made 270-3dec.
Northants collapsed to 217 all out in their second innings with Brooks unbeaten on ten.
