Dennis Moss hit a brace of 180s – but it couldn’t save Nuffield Lounge A from a 7-2 defeat by North Oxford Con-servative Club in the Greene King Oxford & District Darts Association Section 2.

Nuffield Lounge were already trailing 4-0 following wins by Mick Richardson, Mathew Brain, Percy Brain and Tony Lane before Moss starting smacking the lipstick to reduce the deficit. Sean Holley restored North Oxford’s four-game cushion, before they took the pairs 2-1 to seal victory. Chequers ran out 6-3 winners over Three Horseshoes. Richard Reveley and Trevor Ballard were among the singles winners for Chequers, who clinched victory with a 2-1 triumph in the pairs. Paul Bustin and Steve Willoughby posted singles wins for Three Horseshoes. Prince of Wales won 7-2 at Kings Arms in Section 4. Warren Bright and Richard Wilson were among the singles winners for Prince Of Wales, who took the pairs 3-0. Pete Williams and Herbie Hyde were on the mark for Kings Arms. A clean sweep in the pairs saw New Club run out 6-3 winners at home to Bullnose Mo-rris B in Section 5. Paul Raffe, Graeme Johns and Bob Bradford posted singles wins for New Club, before they took the pairs 3-0. Mark Wheeler and Jer-maine Daniels were among Bullnose’s winners. Lord Nuffield Social Club edged out Headington British Legion 5-4. Wins by Tom Fenlon, Rob Whannel, Martin Andrews and Chris Myers set up their success. In the ladies’ league, Caz Chorley hit a 180 to help Berinsfield Community Cen-tre B to a 5-4 win at Vikings Social Club A. Sam Moore beat Pat Davis to give Berinsfield the lead only for Lisa James to level by defeating Cath Pollard. Chorley’s maximum took her to victory, but then Nicola Slay beat Sharon Dillon to make it 2-2. Gemma Dumper defeated Linda Slay to restore Berins-field’s lead, but Vikings hit back again with Gill Cooper’s win over Katie Moore. A 2-1 pairs win saw Berins-field clinch victory.

Meanwhile, Headington Br-itish Legion B are listed at No 7 in men’s Section 8, while Shelley Arms B are now playing at Cowley Conservative Club in ladies’ Section 7 .

Entry forms for the Greene King ODDA Winter League competition must be submitted by Sunday.
