College Oak missed a chance to secure runners-up spot in Men's Section 1 of the Greene King ODDA when they lost 6-3 at home to Shelley Arms C.
Needing four points to take second spot, Oak started well when Michael Wilkes defeated Karl Smith, who threw a 160.
But Shelley hit back strongly as wins from Terry Woods, Arran Stevens, Lyndon Richards and Ray Pape gave them a 4-1 lead.
The home side reduced the arrears to 4-2 when Les Radford beat Paul Champ, but Shelley took the pairs 2-1 to clinch a 6-3 scoreline.
These two teams will meet again next week to decide the runners-up place.
North Oxford Conservative Club clinched the Section 3 title with a 6-3 success at home to Cherwell Club B.
The hosts raced into a 3-0 lead through Sean Holley, Alan Stimpson, and Matt Brain. Percy Brain's win and two pairs victories sealed the title.
New Club got the points needed to lift the Section 7 crown when they defeated second-placed Kennington Social Club 6-3.
ENTRIES for the Oxford and District Darts Association’s Winter League should be in by Sunday, October 5.
The Summer League finals will be held at Rover Social Club, Cowley, on Friday, Novermber 14.
