DAVID Kuester was left with mixed emotions after his performance at the 2022 Midland Masters track and field championships.
The Bicester AC member’s best result in Nuneaton came in the javelin, where he threw 20.43 metres to finish first in the M75+ age group.
He was second in the hammer, shot put and discus with distances of 28.54m, 8.33m and 23.34m respectively.
Kuester put it down to long Covid, with the Bicester veteran still suffering from fatigue and breathlessness.
He said: “My results were encouraging, even though the distances were not as I had hoped for.”
Kuester is back in action next weekend when he competes at the British Masters in Derby.
