DAVID Kuester took an impressive silver in the British Masters Throws Pentathlon Championships.
The Bicester AC member secured second place at Horspath Sports Ground, despite competing with a recurring shoulder injury.
In warm, dry conditions, Kuester scored 2,726 points in the M75+ age group.
“Despite still suffering some long Covid symptoms and a recurring right shoulder injury, I was very pleased with my overall performance,” he said.
Kuester was second in each of the five events with 29.27m in the hammer, 8.10m in the shot put, 22.54m in the discus, 17.72m in the javelin and 11.05m in the heavy hammer.
Derby AC’s Barry Hawksworth (3,717) won gold.
