ZOE Pollock set a new personal best on the way to winning her 400m hurdles heat at the European Under 23 Championships.
The Oxford City AC member crossed the line in 57.17secs to reach the semi-finals in Tallinn, Estonia.
Wet weather had threatened to interrupt her rhythm, but Pollock was pleased to overcome the disruption.
“I felt really good," she said.
"I hope I have more to give, I felt quite relaxed on the home straight and kept the stride pattern I wanted.
"Luckily I hadn’t warmed up when the rain delay happened but you have to be prepared to adapt to whatever.”
Pollock's previous personal best came less than a fortnight ago at the British Championships in Manchester.
She stopped the clock at 57.47 to beat the European Under 23 qualifying time of 57.50 and book her place in Estonia.
