NATHAN Douglas continued his build-up to a big summer by finishing eighth at the USATF Golden Games.
The Oxford City AC triple-jumper achieved a distance of 15.94m at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting in Walnut, California.
It was 14cm above the standard required to compete at the British Athletics Championships on the last weekend of June, where places at this summer’s Tokyo Olympics are up for grabs.
Two-time Olympian Douglas has long targeted a spot at the rearranged Games, which begin in late July.
The 38-year-old competed at the Athens and Beijing Olympics in 2004 and 2008.
