Oxford City boss Mike Ford has received an early Christmas present after Swindon Town agreed to extend striker Kayden Jackson’s loan spell at Marsh Lane.
Jackson, 19, has been in hot form since linking up with City, scoring four goals in just six appearances.
“Kayden’s going to be with us for the next couple of months,” said a delighted Ford.
“Although they have an immediate recall on him, we are hoping that it doesn’t happen and we can work with him for longer.
“He’s got pace, is a threat going forward and is a good finisher. He likes to shoot from anywhere.
“He’s still raw which is good for us. I don’t need to say much to him, but wherever he plays – whether it be upfront or out wide – he has done well.”
Jackson scored in the 4-1 home win against Stockport and Ford will be looking for him to do the same as they aim to make it four Skrill North games unbeaten in the return at Edgeley Park tomorrow.
But Ford is warning his players Alan Lord’s side will be a tougher proposition as the hosts look to bounce back from last week’s 2-0 home defeat by Brackley.
“I watched the manager’s interview after the game against Brackley and he wasn’t happy with what he saw,” added Ford. “That tells me they will be extremely motivated against us, so we know it will be tough.
“There will be a big crowd roaring them on, but that’s one of the reasons why we want to be playing at this level.”
City are without Steve Basham (leg), while Lee Henderson faces a late test on a calf injury.
Oxford City: from Scott, Ballard, Stonehouse, Pook, Learoyd, Willmott, Jackson, Benjamin, Robinson, Symonds, Palmer, Cook, Pond, Winters, McNish, Francoz, Henderson.
