Chris Wilder has added to his summer signings by bringing in former Oxford United centre back Andy Melville as to help with the first-team coaching
The ex-Welsh international, 40, who made 159 appearances for the U’s in the 1990s, before having spells at Sunderland and West Ham, has joined on a short-term deal.
Wilder is delighted with his latest acquisition.
He said: “I have known him for a number of years. He has over 700 senior appearances, played for his country and lives in Oxford.
"It’s good for him and it’s good for us. These are the sort of people we want at the football club."
