SUMMERTOWN shoppers were treated to a Regency Christmas experience on Saturday, as Jane Austen fans Austentation played songs from the period.
The duo, made up of Jane Austen Project members Frank Underwood and Gillie Tunley, has researched the Pride and Prejudice novelist’s music and compositions.
They entertained shoppers in Laura Ashley, Banbury Road, with Christmas carols on Saturday.
Mr Underwood said: “Jane Austen would not have considered her music special, but in those days young ladies had accomplishments, and music was one of them.”
