Swimmers finally got to try the refurbished open-air Banbury Lido after the grand opening was delayed.
The pool, at Woodgreen Leisure Centre, in Park Road, was due to open on Thursday but a technical fault in the water circulation system meant it did not open until Sunday.
The £1.5m refurbishment included altering the depth levels, upgrading the water circulation system and improving the overall appearance of the pool.
A separate children's wet play area has also been created and the existing pool slide refurbished.
George Reynolds, Cherwell District Council’s executive member for community, health and environment, said: “We’ve ironed out the technical problem that caused the opening to be postponed and the pool is now open for business.”
