I WOULD like to thank Oxford City Council for making my wonderful neighbour, a Buddhist monk, feel so welcome. Recently he arrived back at his Buddhist Temple beaming with happiness.
He told me that he had been invited by the city council to the Town Hall and was made to feel most welcome and valued.
The Buddhist meditation and yoga centre has recently been feeling the strain of stringent visa restrictions which means that many of the Tibetan monks and teachers cannot stay to teach there.
One way that the city council could assist the centre is to lift the parking restrictions of two hours in Magdalen Road. These were only recently introduced in the Magdalen Road parking bays opposite the Buddhist centre.
This means that the four-hour long meditation, yoga and teaching sessions have had to be cancelled as visitors from afar keep getting parking tickets after two hours.
Please can the city council show their support for this peaceful charity by lifting the recently imposed two hour restrictions in Magdalen Road.
