Christmas is right upon us and the pantomime season is in full swing.
I suppose it is therefore fitting that the Wise Men of Oxfordshire County Council, in their world of make-believe, have unanimously given the go ahead to two controversial pedestrian crossings in Abingdon (December 17).
This whole pantomime has been a joke since the curtain was first raised, but none of us are laughing.
I only hope the Fairy Godmother will come on stage, at the last minute, wave her magic wand and these ‘baddies’ disappear down the trap door in a puff of smoke.
Should this happen we would all stand up and give a resounding cheer for common sense. Oh yes we would.
