BANBURY MP Sir Tony Baldry yesterday lost control of his car and crashed it into a shop, three other cars ... and a portable toilet.
Sir Tony had parked his black Mercedes car in Banbury and said last night the automatic vehcile had shot off when he bent down to pick up a dropped shopping ticket.
Despite the MP trying to regain control, the car veered through the car park, took out a portable toilet, went over a small drop into a neighbouring road and then hit a wall of a Poundland store.
It then hit a parked van and three stationary cars before coming to a rest against a concrete pillar, a witness said.
No one was injured and Sir Tony is understood to have given a negative breath test to police. Breath tests are standard police procedure in crashes.
Sir Tony, above , said it had been a scary incident. He added he had tried to steady and stop the car by sticking his right foot out of the door and on to the pavement.
