AN unlicensed driver who was over the limit led police on a late-night pursuit through Oxford, hitting two parked cars.

Aiden Davies, who also had cocaine in his system, had no licence, no insurance and was nearly three times the drink-drive limit as he sped through Headington, Wood Farm and Headington Quarry.

The 20-year-old appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court yesterday and admitted dangerous driving, drink driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and failing to stop when required to do so by a policeman.

The incident took place at about 3am on Thursday, March 1, when Davies was spotted speeding in Hollow Way in a Vauxhall Corsa, magistrates heard.

As officers in a patrol car began to follow him, Davies sped along Titup Hall Drive “making violent changes in direction” before colliding with a parked car.

He then carried on into Old Road, where he forced a taxi on to the pavement, before driving at about 50mph through Quarry High Street.

After a second collision with a parked car, Davies ran off but was quickly caught as his trousers fell down.

Davies, of Barton Village Road, Barton, has three previous convictions for aggravated vehicle taking, two of driving while disqualified and one of drink driving.

Magistrates said their powers of sentence were insufficient to deal with the defendant and he was bailed to appear at Oxford Crown Court on April 16.
