A children's book reading event will be hosted by an Oxford author at Westgate Library next month.
Hayley Jane Smith will read her children's book, ‘Alfie's Adventures: Hyacinth Macaw’.
The author will be accompanied by her pet African grey parrot, Alfie, and will run activities designed for children.
She said: "My book educates children about the threats to endangered animals in the wild in a fun and engaging way."
The tale revolves around Alfie, inspired by her rescue pet parrot, saving endangered species, particularly the Hyacinth Macaw.
The event is set to take place on March 26 from 9.15 am to midday,
Further details of Ms Smith's publishing journey can be found on her website.
