This year's Wantage Literary Festival has kicked off 'with a bang' according to the festival's director.
Many festival-goers both locally and from afar have already attended one of many talks and events, which have hosted names such as Beth O'Leary, Will Gompertz, Kate Mansey and Iain Dale.
Talks and events with zoologist Tom Moorhouse, acclaimed poet Mary Jean Chan, award winning authors Lucy Atkins and Claire Fuller, entertainer Richard Digance and ‘the dog father’ Graeme Hall are still to come.
The Wantage Literary Festival takes place at The Beacon, Wantage Library, the Vale & Downland Museum, the SS Peter & Paul Parish Church and the Cob & Pen. The festival started on Saturday, October 21 will run until Saturday, November 4.
Festival director Vicki Luker said: "The festival has started with a bang. The turnout's been great and our volunteers have been amazing. There's still much more to come, so please come and support our charity over the next two weeks."
