A fire broke out in Didcot last night (May 15) when the trailer of a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) went up in flames in the distribution centre of a supermarket.
Two crews from Didcot and one from Abingdon were called out to extinguish the blaze at the Asda distribution centre on Sutton Courtney Road at around 11pm.
Nearby homeowners saw flames and heard loud bangs when the fire broke out – with some believing the noise was fireworks.

A HGV trailer carrying a cargo of non-hazardous items had gone up in flames.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and high-pressure hoses to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire has been confirmed as accidental and fire crews departed at 11.57pm.
The distribution centre is one of 15 across the UK that are used to store goods before they go to individual Asda stores.
