Police, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue and Highways East attended the blaze.
Police closed the southbound carriageway at 12.40pm and northbound traffic was held but subsequently released.
The road reopened about 3.15pm.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that the woman died at the scene despite the best efforts of two off-duty officers who performed CPR.
