A DRIVER was able to escape uninjured after their car took fire on the A43 near Hardwick.
Crews from Bicester fire station attended the incident and extinguished the fire using high pressure hose reels.
An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “The driver had a lucky escape after smelling a burning smell and deciding to stop the car and get out, when it burst into flames.
“The driver did the right thing by pulling over and stopping the car as soon as they smelt burning which meant they didn’t suffer any injuries or ill effect from the fire.”
“On arrival the crew were met with a car fully involved in fire. Firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using high pressure hose reels.”
