A CAR burst into flames on a road in a south Oxfordshire village.
Passer-by Colin Grant was walking his dog at around 1pm on Thursday when he saw a Rover estate car on fire in Wharf Road in Shillingford, opposite The Kingfisher Inn.

Colin said: "The owner (of the car) told me he had stopped as smoke appeared inside the cabin and he had jumped out unhurt, but then the car was engulfed in flames with loud explosions when the petrol tank erupted."

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene and Colin said crews had the fire under control in a 'very short time'.
