Fire crews extinguished a car fire on the M40 and found two camping gas cylinders.
Crews from Bicester and Kidlington Fire Stations were called to the M40 on Thursday night to a car on fire between junctions 10-11 two miles south of Banbury.
Traffic was stopped briefly by Highways England as firefighters extinguished the fire using hose-reels and breathing apparatus.
Two small camping gas cylinders were cooled and removed from the vehicle.
The driver noticed changes in the vehicle handling, and then smoke in the rear view mirror and was able to pull over and get out safely.
