WITH schools closed and children working from home, one brother and sister decided to write a poem to thank the NHS for their hard work.

Rayhan Yusuf, 10 and his sister Anya Yusuf, eight, attend St Gregory the Great Catholic School in Cowley and when they got an assignment to write a poem, they decided to dedicate their verses to the NHS.

Siama Begum, Mother of Rayhan and Anya Yusuf, said: “I just think it is such a beautiful gesture from my kids, they just thought out of the box. I think it was so good they came up with that idea and it was so thoughtful in this hard time.

"I think some really strong and positive words from children would be very encouraging and appreciated by them.”

Oxford Mail:

The siblings researched rhyming words and thought about the hard work of our frontline workers.

Some of the lines from the poem include: “A place you share and provide so much care, you work day and night to make our lives shine bright.”

The siblings also wrote: “We thank you for your kindness and will never forget. Your passion is a inspiration to us all and we appreciate thank you all. Words are not enough to express how grateful we are.”
