AN Oxford nurse working with elderly patients at their homes during the coronavirus crisis has thanked supporters for donations which will allow her to keep her car on the road so she can carry on caring.

Community nurse Rebecca Carton launched a Go Fund Me fundraising campaign last week.

Since its launch she has already beaten her initial £200 target, raising £285 by Good Friday, to pay for essential car repairs.

Detailing her fundraising campaign, she said: “I’m a community nurse working hard during the Covid-19 crisis to keep elderly, frail and vulnerable people safe and well at home.

“In order to do this I need a safe and working car.

“My car needs some repairs in order to keep it on the road so I can keep doing my job.

“A local garage is doing everything possible to keep the cost low but I am still expecting a large bill which I will struggle to pay.

“I am wondering if anyone would possibly be willing to donate a few pounds so I can get my car fixed.

“Thank you for reading.”
