A CAR fire on the M40 caused long delays during the morning rush hour.
The incident closed a lane on the southbound carriageway, with drivers experiencing queues of several miles between junction 10 for the Cherwell Valley Services and junction 11 for Banbury.

The vehicle was moved to the hard shoulder but traffic remained slow until mid-morning, with motorists warned to expect delays on the motorway and surrounding roads.
