A BARN fire caused dozens of bales of straw to go up in flames near Witney yesterday.
Dramatic pictures show firefighters battling the blaze near South Leigh, which was sheltered from the wet weather by the barn's roof.
One shot shows a digger apparently in use in an attempt to extinguish the flames, as firefighters with protective breathing equipment got the incident under control.
No one is thought to have been hurt in the incident.
Eynsham Fire Station tweeted: "We were first in attendance at this barn fire near South Leigh yesterday along with colleagues from Witney and Bampton.
"50-60 bales of straw well alight. Fortunately no one was hurt and the fire was prevented from spreading."
