THE CHARRED skeleton of a lorry carrying 20 tonnes of paper was all that remained after it caught fire.
Firefighters were called to the waste compactor fire in Bicester just after midnight on Saturday.
Both Bicester and Banbury fire crews were called to the unit to prevent the fire spreading on to the ground or to the platform 12m above.
It was monitored overnight and then crews helped the haulage company unload the 20 tonnes of compressed paper and extinguish the deep-seated fire throughout the morning.
