THERE were reports of major tailbacks at Abingdon Road after a pedestrian suffered a 'medical emergency' on Sunday morning.
Eyewitnesses said that the woman had fallen in the road and suffered a seizure at about 10am.
A car blocked the road during the incident near the Tesco Express for 15 minutes before an ambulance arrived to take the woman to hospital.
It caused traffic to back up towards the eastern by-pass.
Her condition is not believed to be life threatening and traffic is beginning to return to normal.
The car has since been moved out of the road.
