OXFORD United fans have taken to social media to welcome Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth to the club following his succesful takeover.
The Thai businessman, known as Tiger, completed a deal to become the U’s new chairman yesterday replacing Darryl Eales.
Many fans also took to Twitter and Facebook to thank the outgoing chairman during whose three-and-a-half-year tenure the club enjoyed a promotion season, two Wembley appearances and several FA Cup giant-killings.
Mr Eales will retain a shareholding and significant investment in United and will remain on the board.
Commenting on The Oxford Mail's Oxford United Twitter page, @RosieDodds86 said simply: "Welcome Tiger."
@DavidOUFC greeted the news saying: "That's grrrreat!"
@MARKLONGOUFC123 tweeted: "Welcome to OUFC Tiger."
While @Mickramage commented: "Let's not let the events of the last couple of months spoil DE's legacy.
"His achievements since he took over have been immense and should be loudly applauded.
"The club, generally, is now in a much better place and it's good that he's still on the board."
