How the hotel could look from the Westgate Centre
A PLAN which could see a 90-bedroom Premier Inn hotel built in Oxford city centre will be decided by councillors tomorrow.
Developers say it would provide a ‘much needed hotel’ in Greyfriars Court, immediately outside the western entrance of the Westgate Centre.
The Oxford Preservation Trust has objected. It said ‘rather than blending in, (it) will tower over Paradise Square’ and ‘dwarf’ treasured buildings nearby, including the Jolly Farmers pub and St Ebbe’s Rectory.
The city council’s West Area planning committee will look at the proposal from 6pm.
