STUDENTS at an Oxford College have agreed to appoint a 'class liberation officer' to protect working-class undergraduates from insults.
St Hilda's College students backed a motion that people from working-class backgrounds needed support because suffered from classism while at university.
One student told The Sunday Times: "Insults such as 'chav', chav-themed social nights and questions such as 'why are you wearing Primark?' can make poor students feel upset and worthless.
It is understood the officer will run workshops during Freshers' week.
