The body of a 72-year-old woman was found in the river in Thame this morning.
Police were called to Thame at 11.40am to reports that a woman was thought to have entered the river.
Ambulance, fire service and the police helicopter also attended and a search took place.
Connie Primmer, a spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police, said: "The woman was recovered from the water and had sadly died.
"Next of kin have been informed.
"An investigation is under way and the death is being treated as unexplained."
