RELIGIOUS preachers in Cornmarket Street have clashed with pro-LGBT demonstrators in Bonn Square.
The group, which hails from the U.S but would not give its name, was spotted in the city centre from 12 midday.
About 30 people have gathered in Bonn Square with the religious group continually drowned out by shouts, rebukes and singing from the protesters.
Oxford Pride youth officer Ari Baker, who was present this afternoon, said: "These guys were handing out leaflets earlier against same-sex marriage and spreading hatred of all sorts: the standard things like 'You're going to hell' and 'God hates you'.
"We need to make sure things like this don't go unnoticed.
"My uncle is a pastor in a baptist church and he wouldn't stand for this."
