A MAN was taken to hospital last night after a four-vehicle crash on the M40.

Emergency responders were scrambled at about 11.10pm to the stretch of the southbound carriageway between Junctions 8A (Wheatley) and 9 (Bicester).

The road was closed while firefighters worked to release one person from a vehicle.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance services said two people were assessed at the scene and did not require hospital treatment but another person was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with back pains.
