CUSTOMERS in Oxfordshire have lost five bank branches in the past 12 months.
Statistics from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed the banks were among 600 branches which have closed across the United Kingdom.
Three branches of Barclays- in Summertown, Watlington and Wheatley- all shut their doors for the final time.
Lloyds in Botley also closed down and an HSBC branch in Bampton stopped operations.
The Campaign for Community Banking Services said 3,000 branches had closed in the past 10 years, leaving 8,000 still open across the country.
