NURSING students at Oxford Brookes pulled on their trainers and ran around the university's Harcourt Hill campus to raise money for a mental health charity.
The five kilometre run on Saturday was part of the university's celebrations to mark 125 years of nurse education and took part on the same day as a another run at its Swindon campus.
Brookes students from disciplines including adult nursing, children's nursing and adult mental health are taking part, with the money raised Oxford students going to Oxfordshire Mind.
The Swindon-based students ran for Brighter Futures, the charity of the town's Great Western Hospital.
Both events were organised in partnership with Harcourt Hill parkrun and Swindon parkrun – weekly runs set up by volunteers who are running enthusiasts.
Second year Bsc adult nursing student Richard Adu Gyamfi said: "I came up with the idea of a fun run led by students, which both students and staff could get involved in along with anyone in other health disciplines.
"We decided to make it a fundraising event and raise money for Oxfordshire Mind, this is because as adult nursing students we are more likely to come across mental health related issues than any other, so it is something close to our hearts."
