THE widow of Poundland stabbing victim Justin Skrebowski has suffered another loss after thieves stole family heirlooms.

Sentimental jewellery was taken from the family home in Buckler Road, North Oxford, on Sunday, January 21, between 4pm and 7pm.

It comes just over one month after 61-year-old was murdered in the Bury Street branch on Monday, December 7.

Thames Valley Police have released images of the jewellery.

Investigating officer based at Oxford Police Station PC Chris Cassidy said: "This was already a terrible time for the victim, who is trying to carry on with her life after losing her husband in such a horrible way.

"To then be the victim of a burglary such a short time later, where someone broke into her home - where she and her young children should feel safe - searched it and stole jewellery and other precious items, is heartbreaking.

"These items had huge sentimental value as they were family heirlooms from her husband’s family and were being kept to give to their children when they grew up.

"I am urging anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant you feel it is, to come forward and help us to find who stole these items and get them back to the victim, who has already gone through so much."

Police said the thieves broke into the family's home while the children were being picked up from school.

They said the burglars got in through the conservatory roof and forced open a window.

Mr Skrebowski, 61, lived at the family home with his wife and two children.

He was murdered in the Abingdon store on the day his wife's birthday.

Trevor Joyce, 36, of Franklyn Close in Abingdon, has been charged with the murder.

PC Chris Cassidy added: "At this stage there is nothing to indicate this burglary is connected to the murder investigation.

"I am determined to bring the perpetrator to justice, but I will need the public’s help specifically anyone who works in local pawn shops, antique shops, jewellers or cash for gold shops."
