AN OXFORDSHIRE MP has promised to brighten up Westminster by donning a pink outfit in the name of charity.
John Howell, member for Henley, is helping to raise awareness and support charity Breast Cancer Now.
It is hosting a campaign titled Wear it Pink and encouraging as many people as possible to dress brightly on Friday, October 23.
Mr Howell, pictured, said: “Right now breast cancer is at a tipping point. Every year in the UK around 50,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, and sadly nearly 12,000 women still lose their lives to the disease.
“This is why we all must come together to support Breast Cancer Now’s cutting-edge research, and this is a fun and simple way for everyone to get involved.
“Together we can make a big difference for women with breast cancer. I hope everyone in the local community will join me in wearing pink on October 23 and show their support.”
The charity aims to ensure nobody dies from the disease by 2050.
