Conservative Carol Reynolds has been elected the new district councillor for Witney North Ward following yesterday's by-election.
Ms Reynolds received 264 votes, edging out closest rival Liberal Democrat Diane West, who got 201 votes.
Brigitte Hickman from the Green Party came third with 136 votes, followed by Trevor License from the Labour Party with 114 votes, and finally James Robertshaw from UKIP with 64 votes.
The turnout was 781.
Ms Reynolds said: "I am delighted and honored to have been elected to serve the residents of Witney North where I live. I will work hard to represent their interests and hope to do them proud."
The by-election comes after independent councillor David Snow, who served on the district council for three years representing Witney North, announced his resignation in June.
