A VAN on fire closed part of the M40 near Milton Common.
The northbound lane was closed on the exit slip road at junction 8 with the A40 heading towards Wheatley services.
Thames Valley Roads Policing said the fire was now out and they were waiting for the van to be moved.
South Central Ambulance confirmed no one was hurt.
Police spokeswoman Hannah Jones said they were called at 2.30pm to reports of a van on fire on the hard shoulder of the M40 northbound, just off the slip road at J8a.
She added: “A closure of lane one was put on while this was dealt with. The fire service has now put the fire out. No one was injured.”
